A solitary life aboard a pirogue cannot be easy. Sometimes lasting days or more off the wild reefs of SW Madagascar, but the prospect of a safe return, home to the thriving village of Anakao is a just reward. In all my travels, I have not felt such a sense of inclusion and kindness in any community and towards considerate guests.
