PEZULA PLETTENBERG BAY NOW OPEN

After almost a decade hiatus, we are back in the most beautiful bay of them all.

“It was a tough decision to leave in the first place” says our founder Ineke Henderson. “There are few places as magnificent as the coastal hamlet of Plettenberg Bay and unfortunately, as with many smaller towns, the market fluctuates both ways”.

“Saying goodbye to my daughter and son in law in 2007 as they left to start Pezula Cape Town was the final straw”

This, coupled with a global recession and the property collapse on the garden route was making life difficult for the store and the tough design was made to close.

Fortunately Ineke was able to find a wonderful colleague to take over the space and all the Pezula staff were retained.

Why open again some might ask?

Home is were the heart is and Camilla and Steven (the incumbent owners of Pezula) have maintained a close affinity with the bay of bays. Spending many sun soaked days up the Keurbooms river and floating in the pristine coastal waters off Robberg.

“Each time we drove down Main Street, past our old store the conversation would turn to when and how we could return” says Camilla.

“Now that the Cape Town store is 11 years old and well established and adding to the booming expansion along the garden route, we felt the time was right.”

“The serendipity of how this transpired is not lost on us” adds Steven. “The same space next to the wonderful Pippa’s Flowers on the Main Street and welcoming back our favourite sales legend Julie Anne is just a dream”.

Our doors opened quietly on October the 1st and we are have something new in store from our previous incarnation.

Pezula Plett will focus equally on home decor as well as lifestyle items including holiday style clothing, coffee table books, stationary, gifts, bath and beauty products as well as the most beautiful bicycle and even a surfboard.

You’ll find us at Shop 1, The Village Square corner Main St and Gibb St Plettenberg Bay or ring us on 087 135 5948.
