JEWELLERY CARE
These are gold-plated. The base is brass, stainless steel or sterling silver.
The plating will fade over time due to contact with hard surfaces, water, perfume, lotion, and cleaning products.
To keep your jewellery as sparkling and happy as possible, here are a few simple guidelines to ensure the longevity of your jewellery.
- Avoid water contact where possible. Do not wear (plated) jewellery when in the swimming pool or while bathing or showering.
- Avoid contact with cleaning products.
- Stay away from jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps which may have certain components that will make your gold plated jewelry tarnish more quickly.
- Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, makeup or any other product in this family. Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your gold plated ring, bracelet or necklace.
-
Store like items together. Do not store gold plating and silver plating together. The different metals will cause each other to tarnish, fade and/or turn colours. Have different storage places for different colors of metals like gold and rose gold. Store in a dry area.
-
Take care when dressing and undressing, put jewellery on last, or take it off first.
-
Do not jank or pull chains.
-
Store jewelry away from direct sunlight or heat.
- How long the plating will last differs per person; usage and treatment, therefore we cannot give any guarantee on plated jewellery.
- If your gold-plated jewellery is starting to look a bit dull. Clean your plated jewellery gently with a soft damp cotton cloth. Wipe the jewellery lightly to remove surface dust and dirt. Do not rub it.
GEMSTONES
- As gemstones have a higher density than precious metals and your jewellery may be scratched if they are kept together. A soft cloth pouch or a jewellery box are good options for storing.
- Gemstones are a product of nature and are therefore unique and may vary slightly in size, color or appearance
- Gemstones may also change colour or appearance due to sunlight or contact with water or other liquids
LAB GEMSTONES
- Most of our gemstones are lab made: That means not imitations but real, the only difference is that they are grown in a laboratory: identical chemically, physically and optically to natural gems. The mineral composition of lab – created stones is created through a process similar to what nature does beneath the earth over million of years but in a lab at fraction of time an a fraction of the cost of
Lab-grown gemstones have a significantly lower impact on the environment. Lab- grown diamonds use 86% less water and 50% less energy, and produce a whopping 95% less in carbon emissions than their mined counterparts, making them a much more eco-friendly choice
